Through dynamic visuals, real-world use cases and actionable insights, legal professional and innovation by design leader, Marie Potel-Savile, Founder of FairPatterns and CEO of Amurabi, and Paavana Kumar, Partner in Davis+Gilbert’s Advertising + Marketing Practice Group, will shed light on the “dark patterns” that cross the line from marketing to manipulation in the digital world —and AI’s potential to make them even darker.

Register now for a high-powered session where you’ll learn to deftly avoid deceptive online practices and protect your brand in today’s ethical trouble spots, using these key concepts:

  • Understanding: Analysis of dark patterns and AI use cases
  • Compliance: Review of US and the EU regulatory framework, including key considerations under the EU AI Act

About the Speakers

Paavana Kumar helps major advertisers, retailers, disruptive e-commerce companies and startups assess risk and comply with the shifting landscape of advertising and media law.  Clients rely on her counsel as they work to promote innovative products, run high-exposure campaigns and streamline the online customer experience. Paavana is particularly experienced at navigating cutting-edge social commerce issues and has a deep understanding of the regulatory focus on “dark patterns”. She is a recognized thought leader who frequently speaks and writes about e-commerce and influencer marketing for in-house counsel and industry stakeholders.

Marie Potel-Saville is an impact entrepreneur: the founder of FairPatterns, a solution to detect and fix dark patterns at scale, and Amurabi, an award-winning innovation studio specializing in ethical, privacy-enhancing, and age-appropriate design. Before becoming an entrepreneur, she worked in private practice for 10 years (Freshfields, Allen & Overy) in Europe, then moved in-house to become GC EMEA of a US-listed group.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Innovation by Design at ENSCI and teaches innovation by design at Singapore Management University, Sciences Po, and Assas.
