Companies using behavioral advertising may have to alter their default settings in light of the FTC’s proposed changes to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA). One of the proposed changes to COPPA focuses on parental consent, requiring that online operators must obtain separate verifiable parental consent to disclose a child’s information to third parties.
