Session Overview
In this session for Practising Law Institute, Louis will discuss the explosive growth seen in recent years in highly regulated industries – including alcohol, marijuana, CBD, gambling, tobacco, and cryptocurrency. Each of these industries has complicated rules for how they can be advertised, and it’s not just brands who need to be mindful of these restrictions – media companies, ad agencies, tech platforms, and other providers are often champing at the bit to work with brands in the space, but often lack the know-how to build out legally compliant proposals. This presentation is designed to provide an overview of the legal framework governing advertising in each of these industries, to enable in-house counsel and other professionals to move forward in a compliant and responsible manner.

- Alcohol, with a focus on recent changes in age-targeting thresholds and self-regulatory enforcement actions regarding responsible advertising
