Overview
John Maccio supports clients in mergers, acquisitions, financings and other complex transactions. He works to ensure clients are prepared to anticipate risks and develops solutions to issues that may arise throughout the course of a transaction.
Through his collaborative and solutions-driven approach, John helps guide the client team to deliver results in line with their short and long-term business objectives. When coordinating with clients and third parties, he supports swift negotiations, detailed due diligence and tailored documentation drafting to keep the transaction moving forward. Using insight gained in prior transactions, he contributes creative problem-solving to address novel business and legal challenges.
Prior to joining Davis+Gilbert, John gained experience as a corporate associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, where he worked on M&A, financing, entertainment and IP transactions.
Representative Experience
- Counseled a Triple-A minor league baseball team in connection with its sale to a New York-based sports management group for minor league clubs affiliated with Major League Baseball.
- Represented a U.S. provider of marketing and software services for retail supplier data in its acquisition of two retail analytics solutions platforms. The acquisition allowed the client to expand its reach in the national market to over 2,500 consumer product brands, offering them support in optimizing inventory, merchandising and marketing strategies.
- Advised a leading Canadian investment firm in the luxury real estate market, as it entered into an asset-based credit facility and made amendments to its existing loan agreement.
