Areas of Focus
“The goal is not to win minor points for winning’s sake, but to win on the major issues my client cares about.”
Overview
Helen Ogbara Reeves advises founders, investors and emerging companies through transformational transactions — from business formation and fundraising to governance and exit planning. She works with clients across sectors including healthtech, consumer, digital media, e-commerce and SaaS, helping them make decisions about ownership, capital structure and operational challenges.
With experience on both sides of the table, Helen knows how terms will be received by founders and investors. She helps clients anticipate pushback and structure agreements that hold up under pressure. Whether the issue is dilution, board control or founder vesting, clients appreciate her ability to anticipate the long-term impact of each decision. As clients mature, they often rely on her as outside general counsel, supporting key decisions around operation and governance.
Clients appreciate Helen’s skill as part legal advisor, part business translator. She listens closely to understand both the terms on the table and their context. Whether guiding a client through a financing round or an exit, Helen keeps the strategy grounded in the business needs of her client.
From start to finish, Helen brings order to complex transactions, setting clear expectations and helping clients move forward with confidence. She drafts documents clearly and meticulously, and she excels in communicating the practical aspects of technical legal issues.
