Press Release - November 4, 2025

Davis+Gilbert Appoints Amy Shepherd as Chief Marketing + Business Development Officer

Davis+Gilbert is pleased to announce the appointment of Amy Shepherd as the firm’s Chief Marketing + Business Development Officer (CMBDO). Amy will lead the firm’s integrated marketing and business development strategy, bringing her proven record of driving revenue growth and her pioneering expertise in leveraging artificial intelligence to transform client development and marketing practices.

In establishing this role, Davis+Gilbert underscores its commitment to innovation and client service. Curt Myers, Chairman, noted, “Amy is a transformative leader whose experience spans both business development and advanced AI-driven strategy. Her ability to integrate technology, data, and client intelligence into marketing and business development will accelerate the firm’s growth and sharpen our ability to serve clients in new and meaningful ways.”

“I am honored to join Davis+Gilbert at such an exciting moment for the profession,” said Amy. “Law firms face extraordinary opportunities to establish and enhance robust business development efforts by harnessing AI responsibly and combining it with good old-fashioned marketing and business development strategies. I look forward to working with the firm’s lawyers and business teams to continue building a culture of innovation that benefits our clients.”

As CMBDO, Amy will direct a team responsible for marketing, business development, client engagement, competitive intelligence, and communications. She will also advance Davis+Gilbert’s use of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to strengthen the firm’s business development infrastructure and create data-driven strategies that deliver measurable impact.

Amy brings more than two decades of leadership in legal marketing and business development. Most recently, she created the Gladstone AI Advisory, where she counseled professional services firms on adopting AI to optimize growth, client acquisition, and strategic account management.  Prior to that, Amy spent nearly a decade at Ballard Spahr LLP, most recently as the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer, and before that, she worked in marketing and business development roles at several other law firms.

A recognized thought leader on the role of AI in the legal sector, Amy co-authored the landmark 2025 State of the Industry Report in Legal Marketing & Business Development, the first comprehensive analysis of AI adoption and strategy across the industry. The report highlights both the opportunities and challenges law firms face in moving from AI experimentation to measurable business outcomes.

Amy has been named a Top 50 Marketer by OnConferences ICON Awards and is a frequent author and speaker on AI-enabled client development and law firm growth strategy. She earned her B.S. in Business Administration, with distinction, from Pennsylvania State University, and has completed advanced executive education programs at Harvard Law School, Stanford, UC Berkeley, and Vanderbilt, with a focus on AI-driven leadership and strategy.
