Neal K. Rooney

Neal Rooney supports emerging growth companies at every stage of their lifecycle. He works with emerging companies and venture capital funds on general corporate matters, pre-venture, venture, and growth equity financings, and mergers and acquisitions.

As the first hire at an early-stage education technology startup in Silicon Valley, Neal experienced the business and product issues startups face, allowing him to provide advice from both a legal and business perspective.

Neal takes a collaborative and entrepreneurial approach to his work with technology companies and venture capital firms within the consumer internet, software/hardware, financial and entertainment industries. He leverages his prior experiences to provide successful outcomes for his clients in debt and equity financing transactions, securities compliance, business formations, and strategic alliances.

Before joining Davis+Gilbert, Neal was a corporate associate helping to counsel investors, startups, and funds in venture capital, M&A, corporate governance, and fund compliance matters. He also worked for the New York Angels, NYU Innovation Venture Fund and NYU Tandon School of Engineering.
