He helps deal teams structure and complete due diligence, as well as draft and negotiate terms that make sense and meet tight timelines. With his grasp of intricate deal structures, Matt excels at explaining nuanced legal terms in business language to enhance understanding, avoid challenges and minimize risk. His clear communication skills play a key role in guiding progress toward efficient resolutions.
Before joining Davis+Gilbert, Matt was an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York, where he worked on large-scale banking and credit deals and capital markets transactions.
Representative Experience
- Acted on behalf of a Michelin Star chef/proprietor on the negotiation and planning of a venture with a major international financial institution for the 2024 Paris Olympics, in which our client joined in the operation of a local, highly regarded Parisian restaurant with a special menu and events designed to host the financial institution’s clients, guests and celebrities.
- Represented a global advertising technology and gaming company on its $185 million acquisition of a New York-based mobile-first advertising platform from its publicly-traded owner. The purchase significantly expanded our client’s digital capabilities and U.S. operations, setting the groundwork for it to achieve its long-term goal of becoming an omnichannel platform.
- Represented a renewable energy start-up company in its acquisition of certain intellectual property, contracts and other assets of a national solar energy services and technology company in connection with an assignment for the benefit of creditors. The purchase enabled the client to significantly expand its business offerings and reach within the industry.
