Areas of Focus
“I’m a partner and trusted advisor, not a hired gun. Building enduring relationships with my clients and assisting in their success is exciting and fulfilling.”
Overview
Matt Schneider guides business clients through every phase of their life cycle — including entity formation, financing, and mergers and acquisitions — and negotiates forward-thinking commercial arrangements to help them grow and succeed. Whether advising a startup seeking to expand or a multinational enterprise engaging in an acquisition, Matt takes care to align interests and create structures that set a solid foundation for each investment, acquisition or sale.
With 20 years of experience in guiding mergers and acquisitions and navigating corporate law, Matt knows how to balance the risks and rewards of diverse legal strategies. When needed, he brings in lawyers who focus on related areas, from executive compensation to licensing to tax. His practice includes multinational clients engaged in health care, multicultural and other marketing communications, foreign and domestic media companies, food and beverage businesses, and technology companies.
Matt’s first priority is understanding how his client perceives the challenge at hand. Then he works to discern problems and concerns on the other side in order to meet the client’s goals and preserve a constructive relationship for the future. Because he works extensively with founders and entrepreneurs, Matt anticipates the business and personal issues that often arise in dynamic industries, guiding his clients through difficult moments with discretion and sensitivity.
Matt brings a banker’s facility with financial statements and valuation to his role as a legal advisor, and often shares insights on financial market terms. He views every matter with both a legal and commercial lens to provide practical, market-informed advice.
