Overview
Leslie Kanter is an experienced real estate lawyer with diverse experience representing clients of all sizes in commercial leasing and other real estate transactions. She counsels large owners in complex office and retail transactions, helps major banks, technology companies and brands secure high-visibility headquarters, and represents property owners in strategic negotiations with New York City’s top restauranteurs.
Leslie skillfully advises clients on either side of a deal. While she regularly assists national and international firms and companies, she is equally adept at advising and counseling smaller, non-institutional owners.
Highly attuned to their business objectives and motivations, Leslie guides clients through the myriad issues that arise in a commercial leasing transaction. Clients value her ability to balance deal-specific nuances with the bigger picture to close retail, restaurant, office, warehouse and industrial transactions efficiently and cost-effectively.
Whether developing new strategies, drafting documents, or negotiating terms, Leslie delivers solutions that meet client goals. She moves quickly to establish productive working relationships with in-house counsel, brokers, leasing agents, design and construction teams, risk managers and opposing counsel. Her empathy and sense of humor help her to bring together stakeholders from both sides of the table and craft mutually satisfactory resolutions.
Before joining Davis+Gilbert, Leslie practiced real estate law at several large national law firms.
