Jennifer L. Cohen

Jennifer Cohen advises companies, founders, investors and private equity firms navigating the legal and business challenges that come with growth,  acquisitions and strategic investments. She advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate governance, commercial agreements, and other business transactions. She serves as trusted outside counsel to middle-market businesses across a variety of industries, including media, entertainment, sports, technology, consumer products and professional services.

She helps them understand the business implications of key decisions, evaluate their options and move forward with confidence. Whether representing buyers or sellers, she anticipates potential obstacles early, develops solutions, and keeps transactions focused on achieving clients’ business objectives.

Jennifer’s experience as both outside counsel and in-house counsel gives her a unique perspective on the legal, business, and operational considerations that shape strategic transactions.  She is a skilled negotiator, working closely with executives and other stakeholders to navigate complex issues and keep transactions moving towards successful closings.

Before joining Davis+Gilbert, Jennifer was a partner at Sklar Kirsh, where she advised middle-market companies on mergers and acquisitions and corporate transactions. Earlier in her career, she served as corporate counsel to Elevate Sports Ventures and VenueNext and was an associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. She also worked as an investment analyst at Citibank.
