How to Navigate Harassment Claims in the "MeToo" Environment

April 2018

Workplace harassment claims have been on the rise as more employees come forward with allegations of inappropriate and potentially unlawful behavior at various levels of their organizations. Managing a company's response to such claims often requires navigating complex business and legal issues. In this seminar, we will cover:

  • Examples of challenging harassment incidents that may arise in the workplace;
  • Best practices for investigating and resolving such incidents; and
  • Steps for handling employee complaints while effectively managing business and legal risks.

In addition, our "Quick Takes" will cover recent employment and benefits developments, including:

  • Federal tax law restrictions on the deductibility of settlement payments in sexual harassment cases;
  • New York City laws that expand the use of sick time and permit employee requests for temporary schedule changes; and
  • U.S. Department of Labor’s guidance on internship programs.
