Jack Schwartz is Special Insurance Counsel of Davis & Gilbert. In addition, Mr. Schwartz leads Davis & Gilbert Risk Management LLC, an insurance consultancy firm and wholly-owned subsidiary of Davis & Gilbert LLP.

With over 14 years of experience in the insurance industry, Mr. Schwartz’s combined legal and insurance knowledge makes him uniquely positioned to advise clients on all matters related to insurance. He works closely with companies to draft and negotiate insurance clauses in contracts and ensure compliance with contractual insurance requirements by auditing and reviewing their insurance policies. Additionally, Mr. Schwartz’s experience as in-house and coverage counsel at an insurance brokerage firm where he routinely negotiated agency contracts and assisted insureds in disputing insurance carrier claim denials has afforded him the deep industry knowledge and the know-how to aid companies battling insurance claim denials. His experience spans many industries such as real estate, manufacturing, distribution, retail, education, entertainment, social services, e-commerce and nonprofits.

Prior to joining Davis & Gilbert, Mr. Schwartz worked as an insurance and risk management consultant as well as an in-house lawyer on the brokerage side of the insurance industry. He has managed and advised on the marketing and placement of insurance policies, claims handing, drafting and negotiating insurance policy terms and conditions and auditing insurance policies. In addition he has provided a holistic approach to risk analysis encompassing the many levels and angles of potential risk, including the lesser-known management liability and cyber risks.

Mr. Schwartz has extensive real estate insurance experience representing landlords and tenants both in residential and commercial properties, as well as managing borrower loan insurance compliance and insurance procurement related to development projects. He has also represented lenders in drafting insurance requirements for loan agreements and analyzing the insurance placement of parties to transactions, ensuring adequate insurance placement for the assets under review and compliance with loan terms.
