New Impetus for Holdover Tenants to Move On?
A recent court ruling in New York has established that holdover tenants in a commercial office building may be liable for trespass to the incoming tenant. In the attached overview, Mark Maltz and Lisa Greenbaum discuss Kronish Lieb v. Tahari -- and the $1 million+ in damages that Kronish is reportedly asking for having to lease temporary office space, operate out of two sites, and pay inflated construction costs as a result of a delayed possession date.
