Davis & Gilbert's Stuart Friedel And Ashima Dayal Join Faculty Of Advertising Law For The Pharmaceutical Industry

NEW YORK, October 11, 2006 — Davis & Gilbert announced today that Stuart Friedel and Ashima Dayal will serve on the faculty of American Conference Institute's Fifth Annual In-House Counsel & Regulatory Forum on Advertising Law For the Pharmaceutical Industry on January 23-24, 2007 at The Flatotel in New York City. The focus of the conference is avoiding regulatory and political scrutiny while communicating a clear message through any medium.

Mr. Friedel will participate in a session titled, "Obtaining Network Clearance for Pharmaceutical Campaigns."  Ms. Dayal joins a panel which will discuss comparative advertising claims.

Stuart Lee Friedel is a partner in the Advertising, Marketing and Promotions Department of Davis & Gilbert. He represents numerous multinational, national and local advertising agencies, advertisers, direct marketers, telemarketers and infomercial producers in connection with all aspects of advertising, promotions, marketing, direct marketing and telemarketing. Mr. Friedel was formerly a trial attorney with the Federal Trade Commission.  He is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and its School of Law.

Also a partner in Davis & Gilbert's Advertising Department, Ashima Dayal's practice concentrates on advising the firm's advertising, media and entertainment clients on all aspects of copyright, trademark and right of publicity law. Ms. Dayal has considerable experience resolving complex issues and disputes raising false advertising, unfair competition, misappropriation of idea, defamation, e-commerce and contract concerns, and she regularly participates in litigation and other adversarial proceedings related to these areas of law.
