2014 Advertising Week Program:
Mission Impossible IV: Truth and Privacy; Sponsored by Davis & Gilbert

New York, NY, September 11, 2014 – Marking Davis & Gilbert’s third consecutive year, the firm is honored to be a part of the 2014 Advertising Week annual privacy/data forum, “Mission Impossible IV: Truth and Privacy.” Davis & Gilbert’s Chairman Ronald R. Urbach will host this forum on September 29 at The Microsoft Stage in Manhattan.

This year’s program will dissect privacy and how data is used in two compelling segments as these issues continue to be some of the biggest challenges facing advertising agencies, advertisers, and the media.

Conversation with FTC Commissioner, Julie Brill
The first segment will feature a candid conversation with Mr. Urbach and FTC Commissioner, Julie Brill, on the current status of data and privacy in the marketplace and will discuss a wide range of critical topics that impact the advertising industry.

Chief Creative Officer Panel
In the second segment, top industry Creatives will share their perspectives on how data and technology have altered advertising, as well as their roles, and what to expect looking forward. Moderated by Mr. Urbach, the panel will feature:

  • Steve Simpson, Chief Creative Officer, Ogilvy & Mather North America
  • Sergio Alcocer, President and Chief Creative Officer, LatinWorks
  • Will McGinness, Executive Creative Director, Venables Bell & Partners

Battle of the Ad Bands: September 30

The firm’s band, Generator Honey, will once again compete in Advertising Week’s “Battle of the Ad Bands” in hopes of solidifying a win for the second year in a row. Generator Honey’s members include Anne DiGiovanni, Darren Fried, Bianca Gersten, Paavana Kumar, Vejay Lalla, Joseph Lewczak, Jonathan Sagot, and Yossi Subar. Last year, the Davis & Gilbert band overthrew the two-time, defending champions ‘Jam with Toast’ of advertising agency, JWT.

Buyers Beware Panel: October 1

Mr. Urbach will participate in a panel session discussing how technology has impacted the media buyer’s market. His co-panelists include Mike Shields the Senior Editor of CMO Today and panel moderator; Tony Haile the Chief Executive Officer of Chartbeat; and Rob Norman the Chief Digital Officer Global of GroupM.
