• Consulting with clients at the creation and selection stage, with emphasis on registrability requirements of foreign countries

• Searching trademarks worldwide, from initial screenings to comprehensive searching

• Dealing with issues relating to translations and suitability to local cultures

• Filing and prosecution of trademark applications in virtually every region of the world and multinational jurisdictions, including the European Community and International Registration system (Madrid protocol)

• Policing of trademarks, including subscriptions to international watching services to monitor for potentially conflicting marks and domain name

• Trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings in foreign countries

• Preparing, reviewing and negotiation of licensing agreements, consulting with local counsel to ensure compatibility with local laws

• Management of trademark portfolios for large and small businesses, including docketing of trademark information and maintenance dates

• Maintaining ongoing working relationships with trademark law firms and agents worldwide to facilitate our international practice
