Gary A. Kibel, Davis & Gilbert Digital Media, Technology & Privacy Partner will speak during a session titled “From Desktop to Mobile: Digital Marketing and Interest-Based Advertising” at a NJ-ACC program to be held at Synchronoss Technologies in Bridgewater, NJ. Mr. Kibel will speak alongside Mark Faber, Prudential, Tracy Stanton, Direct Energy Marketing LLC, and Todd Ruback, ghostery.com.

Session Overview
This program will be the first in a series of educational sessions, which will provide an overview of interest-based advertising, digital marking, cross-device tracking and the privacy issues they raise. Interest-based advertising allows businesses to more accurately target their advertising efforts towards those consumers who have demonstrated an interest in their products or services. During this session breakout, we will present an overview of digital marketing, the privacy and regulatory landscape, the implications of tracking users generally and across devices and how it impacts their privacy. We will also discuss the impact on corporate and organizational risks associated with digital marketing, device tracking and interest based advertising.

This program will provide the following learning objectives:

  • Overview of the complex technological framework for interest based advertising and the major players
  • Learn about the Self-Regulatory Principles and overall regulatory framework from a global perspective and how they apply to both web and mobile environments
  • Learn about regulatory oversight, pending legislation and general direction of privacy law in the online landscape
  • Understand what steps regulators are taking in response to technological advancements in interest based advertising
