Davis & Gilbert Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Seminar:
Native Advertising: Can Marketers be Content Creators?

Tuesday, March 15, 2016

As marketers continue to create and integrate content within the user experience online, the practice of native advertising continues to grow at a rapid pace. Building on self-regulatory guidance issued by the MMA, IAB and NAD, the FTC weighed in with concrete guidelines that they will look to enforce in 2016. From advertising agencies to brands to media publishers, all marketers are faced with meeting the new regulatory challenges of native advertising. Can marketers still be content labs? When is disclosure necessary? Who is responsible for disclosure and what does it need to look like now? We will explore all of this and more.

In this seminar, leaders from the self-regulatory, agency and publishing industries will offer practical takeaways including:

  • Brief overview of the history of native advertising
  • Potential regulatory risks and in particular, the FTC’s new regulations
  • Best legal and business practices to implement native advertising in 2016 and beyond
