Ronald R. Urbach will speak at the session titled, “Marketing Straw Into Gold.” Mr. Urbach will provide a review of the past year’s major media and marketing issues, advertising cases, legislation and regulatory developments. Mr. Urbach will cover the most intriguing and important trends in advertising and marketing and will offer strategies to stay ahead of the curve in the accelerated marketplace. This session will take place on the first day of the conference, November 5, from 8:45 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.
Joseph J. Lewczak will moderate the breakout session titled, “Chicken Soup for the Sweeps.” This session will discuss what you need to know about regulation on advertising claims; with an intensive review of sweepstakes and skill contest official rules provisions and a strong overview of good security practices. The session will take place on November 6, from 2:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.
Allison Fitzpatrick will facilitate an expert roundtable titled, “FTC Endorsements from the Sponsor Side,” on November 6, from 7:45 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. The roundtable will discuss the revised FTC Endorsement and Testimonial Guides and how the proposed changes will impact advertisers, including but not limited to how advertiser's inability to use "results not typical" disclaimer will affect consumer testimonial; and how advertiser's potential liability for statements made by bloggers and blogger's failure to disclose relationship with the advertiser will affect an advertiser's use of blogs and other new media.
