ACI: 22nd National Advanced Forum on Advertising Law

Ronald Urbach, Davis & Gilbert Partner, will be speaking at a session titled, "Creating Content for Brand Marketing - Overcoming Business and Legal Challenges and Safeguarding Against Government Enforcement and Litigation," during the 22nd Advertising Law Conference at the Marriott Eastside Hotel in New York.

This session will take place on Monday, January 26, 2009 from 1:00p.m. - 2:00p.m.

This panel will discuss:

  • Defining branded content - knowing how to draw the line between commercial and non-commercial speech
  • If the content is deemed to non-commercial, how far can the envelope be pushed?
  • If the content is deemed to be commercial, what traditional advertising rules apply?
  • Creating regulatory compliance procedures that incorporate lessons learned from FTC and FCC enforcement actions
  • Maintaining control of the brand and allocating business responsibilities amongst all partners involved in the deal
  • Ensuring necessary clearances have been obtained for third-party rights that are used
  • Protecting IP assets created in conjunction with brand integration deals
