Mark E. Maltz is co-chair and the assigning partner of the Real Estate Practice Group of Davis & Gilbert. He represents clients in all types of complex commercial real estate transactions across the country, including financings, dispositions, acquisitions, and commercial leases. Mr. Maltz is responsible for overseeing the real estate attorneys, administering the real estate practice group, and ensuring that all client matters are staffed as efficiently and effectively as possible.

A significant portion of Mr. Maltz’s work is devoted to representing building owners and tenants in their office and retail leasing needs. During the past several years, he has handled some of the largest lease transactions in New York City on behalf of landlords and tenants. Mr. Maltz represents prominent real estate owners and Fortune 500 companies. His clients include Monday Properties, Trinity Real Estate, Union Investment Real Estate GmbH, Rockwood Capital LLC, WPP plc, Bell Canada, Taconic Investment Partners, Unite Here, and Raymour & Flanigan.

Mr. Maltz is also recognized for his unique experience in handling switch facility and data center lease transactions and communications licenses on behalf of both owners and tele-communications companies.

In recognition of his achievements, Mr. Maltz has been recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in America in real estate law (2013) and was also selected as a Super Lawyer by New York Metro Super Lawyers from 2008-2012.

  • Represented Young & Rubicam in the purchase of a commercial condominium unit and leasing of additional premises (totaling 339,132 square feet) at 3 Columbus Circle, New York City.
  • Represented Young & Rubicam in the sale of their headquarters building, 285 Madison Avenue in New York City.
  • Represents the owners of commercial buildings in New York City, including 230 Park Avenue, 1440 Broadway, 140 Broadway, 140 East 45th Street, 275 Seventh Avenue, 920 Broadway and 75 Varick Street.
  • Represented Tishman Speyer in lease restructurings with The Lazard Group and Baker Hostetler.
  • Represented The Ogilvy Group in its headquarters lease transaction for the entire building at 636 11th Avenue, New York City.
  • Represented Grey Global Group in its headquarters lease transaction for approximately 400,000 square feet at 200 Fifth Avenue, New York City.
  • Represented the owner in the securitized refinancing of 275 Seventh Avenue, New York City.
  • Represented Young & Rubicam in the leasing of the entire building at 230 Park Avenue South, New York City.
  • Represented Mastercard International in the purchase of its headquarters facility in Purchase, NY.
  • Represented Williams Communications in the leasing of 225,000 square feet for its switch facility at 601 West 26th Street, New York City.
  • Represented the owner of Seven Hanover Square, New York City in the headquarters lease transaction with Guardian Life.
  • Represented Equitable Life in the lease restructuring of approximately 600,000 square feet of 1285 Avenue of the Americas, New York City to UBS.
  • Represented Raymour & Flanigan in multiple flagship store lease transactions.
  • Served as a party arbitrator in a fair market rent dispute in connection with a New York City lease.
