Oriyan Gitig is counsel in the Advertising, Marketing & Promotions; Technology, Digital Media & Privacy; Entertainment, Media & Publishing; and Intellectual Property Practice Groups of Davis & Gilbert. Ms. Gitig’s practice includes drafting and negotiating contracts and counseling clients in the areas of privacy and data protection (including with respect to recommended best practices and compliance with contractual obligations), technology and software licensing, new media, advertising and intellectual property.
Ms. Gitig represents global and domestic companies in connection with the many aspects of advertising, marketing, new media and entertainment, including advising clients in connection with intellectual property matters, the rights of privacy and publicity and false advertising, among other areas. Her practice extends from providing counsel to both agencies and advertisers, as well as other media and entertainment companies, with regard to their promotional and other creative materials (including digital and interactive content), to negotiating a wide variety of complex agreements, including agency-client, data handling, development, licensing, production, strategic alliance, sponsorship and joint venture. Ms. Gitig regularly provides counsel to her clients in connection with online and social media matters generally, including with respect to privacy and user generated content.
Ms. Gitig has represented clients in a variety of industries, including media, entertainment, fashion, winemaking, not-for-profit, real estate, pharmaceutical and financial services.
Prior to joining Davis & Gilbert, she was an intellectual property and media attorney at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.

- Counseled and developed legal agreements for a fashion consulting company in all matters of intellectual property, new media, brand development and marketing.
- Negotiated terms of an innovative technology development and license and joint venture agreement for a large communications services agency.
- Counseled a sovereign Indian nation in connection with the launch of online news and social media community and internal social media policies.
- Counseled a production company in connection with the development and licensing of a smartphone software application for professional sports leagues.
