Amanda R. Kinney is counsel in the Real Estate Practice Group of Davis & Gilbert. Ms. Kinney has extensive experience in the representation of commercial landlords and tenants in both retail and office leasing matters. A large portion of her practice focuses on advising and negotiating on behalf of some of the nation’s leading retailers. She regularly drafts and negotiates retail and office leases, lease amendments, sublease and assignment agreements, consent, license agreements, guarantees, brokerage agreements, recognition agreements and non-disturbance agreements. Ms. Kinney also has experience representing developers in the acquisition and development of commercial property, as well as institutional lenders, investment banks and private equity companies in real estate finance transactions such as loan sales and secured debt workouts. In recognition of her achievements, Ms. Kinney was selected as a Rising Star by New York Metro Super Lawyers (2014-2017).

Prior to joining Davis & Gilbert, Ms. Kinney was a real estate attorney at DLA Piper LLP (US).

REPRESENTATIVE ENGAGEMENTS

  • Represented NIKE, Inc. in connection with the leasing of approximately 69,000 square feet of retail space in New York City.
  • Represented a New York City architectural firm in the leasing of three full floors (for a total of approximately 37,000 square feet) of office space in a newly planned office development in Brooklyn, New York.
  • Represented an international commercial landlord in the leasing of approximately 23,000 square feet of retail and office space to a commercial bank at a new 200,000 square foot mixed use development in Texas.
  • Represented a commercial landlord in the leasing of approximately 238,000 square feet in Manhattan to a flexible workspace and shared office services provider.
  • Represented an American multinational sports apparel company in the relocation of its New York City corporate headquarters to approximately 150,000 square feet in Manhattan.
  • Represents Godiva Chocolatier in the leasing of stores nationwide.
  • Represents Pret A Manger in the leasing of stores in New York City, Boston, Chicago and Washington D.C.
  • Represented Ross Procurement, a major department store chain, in its purchase of 1372 Broadway, a 21-story building with approximately 550,000 square feet of rentable space, as well as its previous sublease of 46,000 square feet at the building from the former owner.
  • Represented an AmLaw 100 law firm in a lease renewal and restructuring of the firm’s New York City headquarters location totaling approximately 600,000 square feet.
  • Represented Young & Rubicam in the purchase of a commercial condominium unit and leasing of additional premises (totaling 339,132 square feet) at 3 Columbus Circle, New York City.
  • Represented a major consumer electronics company in connection with the leasing of approximately 23,000 square feet of retail space in New York City.
  • Represented an American multinational sports apparel company in the leasing and construction of its Greater China headquarters, for approximately 600,000 square feet of office and conference space in Shanghai, China.
